After logging into your EIZ Fulfillment account, you will be redirected to your dashboard:
Before you can officially start learning how to use the Shipments panel in EIZ, there are a couple of loose ends that need to be tied up from the end of the Basics How-to: Orders article. Select the Orders tab from the left-panel menu which will automatically open Open Orders.
The final step in moving from Orders into Shipments is to either to: 1. select a single order and create a single shipment for it, select multiple orders and create multiple separate shipments, one shipment for each order selected, or 2. select multiple orders and create a combined shipment. We will briefly go through each method. For the first, we will only focus on creating a shipment for one order, but you can apply the same method to create separate shipments for different orders at the same time, by selecting multiple SRN checkboxes. You may select a particular order to create a shipment for by toggling the SRN checkbox associated with that order, and then clicking the Create Shipment button.
A Create Shipment popup will automatically appear asking you to choose the Ship From Address for this order. You may select the default address, or choose another address from the list where the order is to be collected from. This will then enable you to move forward with this article and learn about the options when it comes to handling Shipments more broadly.
Alternatively, it is also possible to combine shipment of orders. This may be necessary or advantageous in certain situations, for example, if a customer has made several different orders, and you wish to ship everything together, thereby reducing shipping costs, or, for example, if different customers have the same Ship To Address. Again, as mentioned, selecting multiple orders and clicking Create Shipment will create multiple separate shipments, one for each order. To combine a shipment, select multiple (more than one) orders from the Orders panel by toggling multiple SRNcheckboxes, and then click Combine Shipment.
From the Combine Shipment popup that appears on the right side of the screen, select a single Ship From Address and Ship To Address that meets your shipment and order requirements. The Ship To address details may be manually adjusted through the form at the bottom of the popup. Next click Confirm and you will have successfully created a combined shipment.
Once you have reviewed the previous two articles: Basics How-to: Filters and Basics How-to: Orders, you are now ready to move onto Shipments, having effectively learned how to track, organize and manage orders from the Orders panel.
Select the Shipments tab from the left-panel menu which will automatically open Open Shipments. Here, you will find all of the shipments created for each of the orders you have received through each sales channel or marketplace integrated with EIZ. Shipments will be shown in various stages of Shipment Stage, from Ready to fulfill, Fulfilling or Archived.
Each shipment contains a unique Shipment ID, the Shipment Stage (as mentioned above) which can be changed manually from the three-dot dropdown, as well as the Customer’s name, address and Contact information, the Consignment, general Info (Order, Product, Package, Tags, Notes, Errors, and Tracking), as well as Action (either to Dispatch or Choose Carrier). These fields are all automatically populated by EIZ upon pulling shipment data from your integrated sales channels and marketplaces, and Create Shipment or Combine Shipment requests that you have made from the Orders panel.
Next, you are ready to assign a carrier. From the Shipments panel, choose a shipment that you would like to ship. The shipment should have the Shipment Stage Ready to fulfill or Fulfilling (color coded blue or green, respectively) with no Consignment assigned. Select the shipment by toggling the Shipment ID checkbox next to it, and click Assign Carrier. Note: as before, when working with multiple separate orders and generating multiple separate shipments, one shipment per order, you can apply a similar technique here. By selecting multiple shipments , and clicking Assign carrier, EIZ will assign a carrier to each shipment, separately.
You may now proceed to the step below to Create Label. This next step is optional: if you would like change the carrier automatically assigned by EIZ, or review and change any of the shipment details, click Choose Carrier under Action, otherwise, proceed to the next step to create your label.
Optional: from the Create Shipment popup that appears on the right-side of the screen, review all of the details provided, including: From Address, Ship To, and Package Info and check that they are correct, indicated by the green Address Valid and Package Valid flags (on the right side of each in-popup panel). If not, these can be edited by clicking the Pen icon (also from the right side). This popup also provides you with the Channel Info, Order Info, and Shipping Summary. From the Choose a carrier in-popup panel, you can see the consignment EIZ has automatically selected (in our case, as mentioned, Fastway), however, you can easily change this by selecting an alternate carrier if you so choose. Finally, Delivery Instructions can be provided in the text input field found at the very bottom of this popup. Once you have finalized any changes, reviewed all of the details, and are happy to proceed, click Assign Carrier to confirm your detail changes and newly selected carrier.
You should see that the Shipment Stage has changed from Ready to fulfil (blue) to Fulfilling (Green), and you can now toggle the SRN checkbox associated with your shipment and then click the Create Label button from the Label Function dropdown. Again, this same step can be used to create labels for multiple shipments at the same time. To do so, select multiple SRN checkboxes, and click Create Label, which will create a label for each shipment selected, thus saving you time.
Next, click Refresh and you should see the Action field updated to Dispatch.
Select your newly created shipment by toggling the SRN checkbox and click Print Label.
You should see a new tab open in your browser with the label provided as a printable PDF. If you do not see this new tab open, check that your browser has popups set to allowed for EIZ. You can now print the label using your designated label printer. After printing this label, make sure to firmly affix it to the outside of your parcel.
These next few steps are optional, so you may skip these if you wish, and drop down to Submitting a Manifest. If you wish to continue here, next, click Dispatch from the Action field.
You should see the Scan Dispatch popup appear on the right-side of the screen. Either scan the barcode of the order(s) included in this shipment, or enter it manually, or from the Item Info in-panel popup, ensure the quantity (qty) matches the value that has been checked. Next, click Confirm and Dispatch.
You should now find that the Shipment Stage has changed to Fulfilled in the Shipments panel.
From the left-panel menu, click Dispatched under the Shipments tab and you should find your shipment now also recorded under this tab (if it is the most recent shipment created, it should show at the top of the results).
You will find that the tracking info has been sent automatically through your sales channel or marketplace by checking if you observe the green truck icon (called Tracking Info) under the Info field. The final step is to select the shipment by toggling the SRN checkbox associated with it, and clicking Submit Manifest. Again, you can easily perform this same action for multiple shipments, in order to save time. You will be billed by the selected carrier you have chosen, with the carrier carrying out the instructions of your shipment according to the details you have selected in the previous steps.
Congratulations! You have just learned how to Create a Shipment, Assign a Carrier, Create and Print a Label, and Manifest your first Shipment! After you have finished with this shipment and don’t want to see it anymore in your Dispatched tab, you can select Archived from the three-dot dropdown under Shipment Stage, in order to have the shipment stored for future use.
Clicking the Archived tab under Shipments from the left-panel menu will display your archived shipments. You should find your most recently archived shipment at the top of this list.
